If you want to buy a Ford Maverick 2022 model, you will be able to do so by Thursday. The company announced that it will be closing order banks for this popular truck. The good news is that they will open this summer for the new 2023 model. The halt doesn’t apply to government and business fleet buyers.
Maverick Is Extremely Popular
Maverick is Ford’s first compact SUV in almost a decade. It went on sale in August last year, and Ford then revealed that it already had 100,000 orders. The company, however, doesn’t disclose the current number of orders.
One of the Reasons Is the Low Price for a Hybrid Version
The truck owes much of its success to the low starting price. The hybrid version is the cheapest entry-level truck with a starting price of around $20,000. Such a low price for a hybrid is highly tempting.
Of course, customers usually get some extras, and the average selling price is $28,600. But even that is much cheaper than the average price of a new car in the US ($42,600).
This does sound tempting. But, if you’ve already envisioned yourself putting your toolbox in the back and driving off to fix a broken fence or go on a camping trip with your family, you will have to wait until summer to place an order for the new model.
